Artificial intelligence processor chip giant NVIDIA has reported results for its fiscal third quarter ended October 29, 2023, with record quarterly revenue of $18.12 billion. This represents an increase of 206% compared to $5.931 billion in the same period of the previous year, and an increase of 34% compared to $13.5 billion in the previous quarter. Net income for the quarter was $9.243 billion, up 12.6 times from $680 million in the year-ago quarter and up 49 percent from $6.188 billion in the previous quarter. Data Center revenue for the third quarter was $14.514 billion, up 279% year-over-year and 38% sequentially. Gaming revenue grew 81% year-over-year to $2.856 billion.
Qualcomm (Qualcomm) announced its fiscal fourth quarter results. Quarterly revenue was $8.67 billion, down 24% from $11.39 billion a year ago. Qualcomm‘s adjusted total revenue for the fiscal year fell 19% from last year to $35.83 billion. Net income for the quarter was $1.49 billion, down 48% from $2.87 billion, or $2.54, in the same period last year.Quarterly sales in the QCT business fell 26% to $7.37 billion. Of that, cellular chip sales fell 27% to $5.46 billion. Automotive business sales rose 15 percent to $535 million. Authorized business QTL sales of $1.26 billion, down 12% from last year.
Broadcom (Broadcom) announced its fiscal fourth quarter and fiscal year ended October 29, 2023 results. Net revenue for the fiscal fourth quarter was $9.295 billion, compared to $8.93 billion in the year-ago quarter. Quarterly net income was $3.524 billion, compared to $3.359 billion in the year-ago quarter. Among them, the semiconductor business revenue of $7.326 billion, an increase of 3%. Software business revenue of $1.969 billion, up 7%. Fiscal year net revenue of $35.819 billion, compared with $33.203 billion in the previous year. Fiscal year net income of $14.082 billion, compared with $11.495 billion in the previous year. Among them, the semiconductor business revenue of 28.182 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 9%. Software business revenue was $7.637 billion, up 3%.

Consolidated revenue for the quarter was NT$110.98 billion (approximately US$3.5 billion), an increase of 12.2% from the previous quarter and a decrease of 22.6% from the same period last year. Operating income for the quarter was NT$179.44 billion, an increase of 21.7% from the previous quarter and a decrease of 45.7% from the same period last year. Net income for the quarter was NT$18.569 billion, an increase of 15.9% from the previous quarter and a decrease of 40.3% from the same period last year.
Analog Devices, Inc. announced its fiscal fourth quarter and fiscal year ended October 28, 2023 results. Revenues for the fiscal fourth quarter were $2.716 billion, compared to $3.248 billion in the year-ago quarter, a decrease of 16%. Quarterly net income was $498 million, compared to $936 million in the year-ago quarter. Fiscal year revenue of $12.306 billion, compared to $12.014 billion in the previous fiscal year. Marvell Technology Group (Marvell) announced results for its fiscal third quarter ended October 28, 2023 Net revenue for the fiscal quarter was $1.419 billion, compared to $1.537 billion in the year-ago quarter, a decline of 8%. Realtek Semiconductor (Realtek Semiconductor) announced its consolidated financial results for the third quarter of 2023. Intel (Intel) announced its third quarter 2023 results. Quarterly net revenue of $14.158 billion, compared with $15.338 billion in the same period a year earlier, down 8% year-on-year. Samsung Electronics (Samsung Electronics) released its earnings report, finally verifying that the company‘s operating profit for the third quarter of 2023 decreased by 77.57% year-on-year to KRW 2.4336 trillion. Sales declined 12.21% year-on-year to KRW 67.4047 trillion. Net profit shrank 37.76 percent year-on-year to 5.8441 trillion won. By business segment, the Digital Solutions (DS) division, which is responsible for the semiconductor business, posted a loss of 3.75 trillion won on sales of 16.44 trillion won (about $12.5 billion). The Device Experience (DX) division posted an operating profit of 3.73 trillion won on sales of 44.02 trillion won. The display (SDC) division reported an operating profit of 1.94 trillion won on sales of 8.22 trillion won.
South Korea‘s chip giant SK Hynix (SK Hynix) disclosed preliminary verification data, according to the caliber of the consolidated financial statements, the company in the third quarter of 2023, an operating loss of 1.792 trillion won. Sales amounted to 9.0662 trillion won (about 6.88 billion U.S. dollars), a decrease of 17.5 percent year-on-year. Net loss was 2.1847 trillion won. Thanks to the best-selling HBM3 memory for artificial intelligence (AI), high-capacity DDR5 memory, high-end mobile DRAM and other staple products, the company‘s sales rose 24% YoY, and operating loss shrunk 38% YoY.

German semiconductor company Infineon Technologies (Infineon Technologies) announced its fiscal fourth quarter and fiscal year ending September 2023 results. Fiscal fourth quarter revenue of 4.149 billion euros (about 4.48 billion U.S. dollars), compared with 4.143 billion euros in the same period a year earlier. Quarterly net profit attributable to the company‘s shareholders was €753 million, compared to €735 million in the year-ago period. STMicroelectronics (STMicroelectronics) announced its third quarter 2023 results. Quarterly sales revenue of $4.431 billion, up 2.5% year-over-year; net profit of $1.090 billion. Automotive and Power Devices business grew year-over-year with revenue of $2.025 billion. Analog IC, MEMS and CIS business decreased year-over-year, with revenues of $990 million. The RF communications business grew year-over-year, and the MCU business was flat year-over-year, with revenues of $1.412 billion.
Storage chip giant Micron Technology (Micron Technology) announced results for its fiscal fourth quarter ended August 31, 2023. Revenue for the fiscal fourth quarter was $4.01 billion, down 40% year-over-year and up 7% sequentially. Fiscal fourth quarter DARM memory revenue was $2.8 billion and NAND flash revenue was $1.2 billion. Net loss for the fiscal fourth quarter was $1.2 billion. Revenue for the full fiscal year was $15.5 billion, down 49% from the previous fiscal year. DRAM memory revenue declined 51% year-over-year to $11.0 billion and NAND flash revenue declined 46% to $4.2 billion. Net loss of $4.9 billion for the fiscal year.
NXP (NXP Semiconductors) announced Q3 2023 results. Quarterly revenue was $3.434 billion, compared to $3.445 billion in the year-ago quarter. Automotive business revenue of $1.89 billion during the period, up 5% year-on-year; mobile device business revenue of $377 million, down 8% year-on-year, but up 33% year-on-year, indicating a recovery in demand for smartphones. Quarterly net income attributable to shareholders of $787 million, compared with $738 million a year earlier.

In the third quarter, TSMC‘s 3-nanometer shipments accounted for 6% of total wafer revenue; 5-nanometer accounted for 37%; and 7-nanometer accounted for 16%.
Wafer foundry Gechip (GlobalFoundries) announced Q3 2023 results. Quarterly revenue was $1.85 billion, compared to $2.074 billion in the year-ago quarter, down 11%. Quarterly net income of $249 million, compared to $336 million in the year-ago quarter, down 26%.
United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) announced its consolidated financial results for the third quarter of 2023. Quarterly operating income of NT$57.1 billion (~US$1.82 billion), compared to NT$75.4 billion in the same period of the previous year. Quarterly operating profit of NT$15.3 billion, compared to NT$30.2 billion in the same period last year. SMIC announced its third quarter 2023 operating results. Operating income for the first three quarters was 33.1 billion yuan, down 12.4% year-over-year. Hua Hong Semiconductor released its Q3 2023 earnings report. Total revenue for the first three quarters was 12.9526 billion yuan, up 5.64% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 1.6846 billion yuan, down 11.61% year-on-year. Third-quarter revenue was 4.10887 billion yuan (about 575 million U.S. dollars), down 5.13 percent year-on-year, and net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 95.8341 million yuan, down 86.36 percent.
Chip equipment giant Asmax (ASML) announced its Q3 2023 results, with profit growth exceeding analysts‘ expectations. Quarterly net profit net profit of 1.893 billion euros, an increase of about 11.76% year-on-year, down about 2.52% sequentially; net sales of 6.673 billion euros (about 7.2 billion U.S. dollars), an increase of about 15.51% year-on-year, down 3.3% sequentially.
