    Introducing Virtex UltraScale+, the XILINX (Xilinx) Advantage Series:

    Virtex UltraScale+ is a high-performance FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) series introduced by Xilinx (Xilinx). 

    I. Technical Features
    Advanced process: Virtex UltraScale+ series FPGAs are manufactured based on 14nm/16nm FinFET node, adopting AMD‘s third-generation 3D IC technology, which breaks through the limitations of Moore‘s Law through Stacked Silicon Interconnect (SSI) technology, providing industry-leading performance and integration capabilities.
    High Performance: The series offers the highest signal processing power and serial I/O bandwidth to meet the most demanding design needs. It also provides a virtual monolithic design experience with rich clocking resources and flexible inter-register routing lines to support over 600MHz operation.
    3D-on-3D Integration: FinFET technology combined with 3D ICs enables breakthrough densities, bandwidths, and massive inter-chip connectivity for virtual monolithic designs.
    Enhanced DSP Cores: The Virtex UltraScale+ family of FPGAs boasts DSP compute performance of up to 38 TOPs (22 TeraMACs) optimized for both fixed and floating-point computation, including INT8 for AI inference.
    High-speed transceivers: Up to 128 32.75 Gb/s transceivers on the device support backplane, chip-to-optical module and chip-to-chip communication.
    II. Application Areas
    The Virtex UltraScale+ family of FPGAs is widely used in the following areas due to its powerful performance:

    Data center: as a scalable and reconfigurable acceleration platform to optimize complex workloads.
    5G baseband: Providing dynamic and scalable solutions for 5G infrastructure.
    Wireline Communications: Supports up to 128 high-speed transceivers and Nx100G network cores for miniaturized implementation of 1Tb line cards.
    Radar: Combines beam forming and other radar functions to enable huge signal processing requirements and precision tracking/guidance.
    Measurement Instruments: Provides high-performance data processing and analysis for network/protocol analyzers, signal generators, and wireline communication testers.
    III. Product Family and Specifications
    The Virtex UltraScale+ family includes several product specifications, such as VU19P, VU37P, etc., which have their own features and advantages in different aspects. For example, VU19P is the industry‘s highest-capacity FPGA with the most resources in terms of system logic cells, CLB flip-flops, CLB LUTs, maximum distributed RAM, and total block RAM, while VU37P has its own advantages in other aspects.

    Development Tools and Support
    Xilinx provides comprehensive development tools and support for the Virtex UltraScale+ family of FPGAs, including the VIVADO design suite, tool flow and IP support. These tools and support help developers accelerate hardware verification, advance software integration, reduce costs, mitigate flow risk, improve efficiency and accelerate time-to-market.
